A New Best Friend

Winterspring Cubs were made available in the patch and are proving to be extremely popular. They are rather cute companion pets with some nice animations and definitely don't look like the kind of companion pet that are bought from a vendor. Because of this they are selling for very high prices - I've even heard of some people selling them for over 1,000 gold. Now the prices will probably drop pretty quickly once people find out how easy they are to get so the sooner you get in this market the better.

To get the cubs simply fly out to Winterspring and run into the inn. You are looking for Michelle de Rum and she is going to be your new best friend. Why? Because she sells the cubs for a mere 50 gold, that's why.

So get over to Michelle now and have fun making gold!

Patch 4.1 Is Here!

Here are my notes now that patch 4.1 is out.

1) Perfect green Cataclysm gems vendor for 90 silver. Cut green Cataclysm gems vendor for 75 silver. Uncut green Cataclysm gems vendor for 5 gold.

2) Obsidium Ore floor price is now 30 gold a stack. Elementium floor price is about 27.25-27.5 gold a stack.

3) New glyph: Glyph of Frostarmor is learned from Northrend Inscription Research.

4) Horde JC daily quest giver has moved inside the building.

5) It now costs 1 Blackfallow Ink to craft 3 Dust of Disappearance.

6) Adventurer's Journal now has a 1 hour cooldown and Forged Documents now cost 1 Blackfallow Ink to craft. (Both tips come from Alto @ Alto's Goldish Advice)

7) Level 75 can now max all out professions. Trainers in cities will teach you the Twilight Highlands recipes (meaning no more reason to level to 84 for some professions). (Tip from Consortium forums).

This post will be updated as new discoveries are made.

It's Official, Patch 4.1 Is Here!

It is now official. I just brought up my Warcraft launcher and it started to download patch 4.1. The download is about 350MB and is available now. I'll be staying up until the patch is live and will post what what changes made it into the official patch a bit after I get into the game.

On another note any one have any guesses as to when Warcraft will come back up? I'm guessing that seeing as Blizzard's last message was that the realms would be back up at 11 AM PST they will be up around 3 PM PST. Any other guesses out there? Put your guess in the comments below and if you are correct I will totally give you +10 internets.

Patch 4.1 Is On Its Way

Everyone and their mother is now saying that patch 4.1 should be released this week so you probably have one last day to prepare before the trolls decide to make a go at retaking Azeroth. The official patch notes are up and you should definitely check them out if you haven't already. Below you will find my notes on what I am doing to prepare for the patch. I posted this list a few weeks ago but I'm going to repost today for anyone who missed it and as a reminder for those who've already seen it. Now is the time to make sure you have everything done - don't be the one who is left with thousands of green gems in their bank because you forgot to cut and vendor them.

1) I am stockpiling volatiles (with the exception of life). If the vendor price for green gems is decreased the price of all the cataclsym ores will decrease. This will lead to an increase in people crafting blacksmithing items (many of which require volatiles) at a time when actual mining is decreasing (meaning less volatiles) due to the drop in ore price.

2) Per Sterling’s suggestion I am buying up Elementium Geodes. If the price of ore does decrease and there are less people mining less of these pets will be put on the market in the future. I view these as a medium - long term investment and plan on selling them when supply has dried up and they fetch higher prices.

3) I will probably list a few extra leather leggings, spell threads, belt buckles, and gems just before patch time. I got this idea after talking with Catharsis and while I don’t think the market will be too large on my server I think people on PVE servers should definitly look into this as people who go straight into ZG and ZA will need these for the new gear they get.

4) I will make sure all of my green gems are sold (cut and vendored) before the patch so that if their vendor price does go down I don’t get stuck with them.
5) In addition I am making sure that I have a full supply of glyphs in order to supply people who will be re-specking along with ensuring that I have extra stock of the glyphs that are changing. If you have a scribe I would also make sure that you have a book of glyph mastery so that you can learn the new glyph (I still haven't seen any confirmation on how the new glyph will be learned).
Hope this list helps. Keep an eye out to see if the realms go down early and make sure you get everything that you need to before then.

Have fun making gold!

My First Blog Post

This is my post for day 9 of Spellbound's Blogging Challenge - My First Blog Post.

I must admit I was a bit scared going into today's challenge. I assumed that looking back on my first post now I would find that it was total crap and I would be super embarrassed to talk about it. Luckily I found that my first post on using the Undermine Journal was actually well written and looking back on it now I am proud of the quality of the post. Well - almost.

You see I think the post offers some great information and is well written. Unfortunately it was written back when this blog was hosted at wordpress.com and the pictures that I used in that post do not seem to have transferred over to blogger. When I first saw that this was the case I thought it wasn't that big of a deal - I could just re upload the pictures to blogger and the post would be as good as ever. Then I realized I deleted the pics from my hard drive. Whoops! So now while I am happy with the quality of my first post the fact that it is minus the necessary pictures means that I will probably be revisiting how to use the Undermine Journal very soon.
