Well Blizzard has posted their replies to profession questions to their "Ask the Devs - Professions" thread. I've posted all the answers that have to do with gold making below. Bold letters equal the question, normal letters equal the answer from Blizzard, and red letters equal my take.
Will enchanters ever get the option to create wands again (maybe other caster items as well using a blank template weapon that could be made by blacksmiths), as they tend to be extremely rare outside of the a couple locations and the new ZA/ZG loot tables? - Flayre (NA/ANZ) [/i]
In general, we want to add more fun themed recipes to enchanting like the magic lanterns. Concerning wands, we've been discussing several options, and most everything we could do with them is still on the table.
Assuming these future fun themed recipes create items that are BOE, enchanting will probably become even more valuable as a gold making profession in the future. Keep your eyes out for items like this the next couple of patches to see if this idea makes it into the game and to get an idea of what kind of items they are talking about.
Will you provide a way to speed up the acquiring of glyphs usually acquired through research and glyph books? Glyph books (Book of Glyph Mastery) are hard to come by now that people spend so little time in WotLK content. -
Furlqt (NA/ANZ), 에르네스트린덴만 (KR), Kånê (EU-ES)
Yes. We will be changing the discovery spells so they can teach all possible glyphs, and the books will simply provide a no-cooldown method to do the same thing.
This explains why the both of the new glyphs in patch 4.1 and 4.2 are learned from research. Expect all new glyphs to be learned from research as well. If you are hording Books of Glyph Mastery you might want to lessen your stock. When this change happens the books will probably become useless.
Are there any plans to make Chaos Orbs BoA or even BoE? -
Mommycow (NA/ANZ)
Yes! They will be unbound in a future patch.
Well we now have official confirmation for what we all thought. Of course they don't say WHICH patch. Damn you Blizzard!
Do you have plans to make gathering professions more attractive instead of making them skills that you would be inclined to take up on one of your alts? -
Nanahuatzin (LA)
Yes, this is an ongoing goal. Specialized nodes and raid/dungeon drops for gatherers are a good start. Because gathering professions essentially pull currencies from the ground, we feel they are a valid choice for many players, especially those who want to be self-sufficient.
This is the most interesting - and cryptic - answer in the bunch. It raises more questions than it answers for me. What do they mean by "Specialized nodes" and what kind of raid drops? Are specialized nodes simply ores like Pyrite Ore or are they talking about something else completely? I really wish they had given some examples as there are more than a few ways to interpret this. Any one out there have special Blizzard knowledge and able to better interpret this answer? If so please sound off below.
Warcraft gold tip: Bidding on auctions that end during the maintenance is a great way to get some deals because the owner can't cancel the auction and no one can start a bidding war just before the auction is over.
